American Heart Association HeartCode BLS Courses- Online Learning Course with In-Person Skills Training

The HeartCode Basic Life Support (BLS) class is a blended learning course combining self-paced online cognitive simulations with an in-person, hands-on skills assessment. It provides comprehensive training on CPR, AED use, and team dynamics for healthcare professionals, resulting in an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Provider eCard valid for two years.designed to help people recognize and respond to several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner.

Certification is good for 2 years.

The course includes the following for an adult, child, and infant:

  • Critical concepts of high-quality CPR
  • The American Heart Association Chain of Survival
  • Differences between rescue techniques
  • 1-Rescuer CPR and AED
  • 2-Rescuer CPR and AED
  • Bag-mask techniques
  • Rescue breathing
  • Relief of choking

Cost: $75
Includes online HeartCode course, skills training instruction, materials, and two-year certification with the American Heart Association.

Registration

Participants should register and pay online through the link below. The $75 registration fee includes both the online course and the in-person skills check. 

Once registered, a code will be sent to the participant’s email that will allow them to access the online training course. This online, asynchronous training course will take 1-2 hours and must be completed before the participant can complete the in-person skills check.

Important Notice:

If a registered participant is unable to attend the in-person skills check, a $20 refund may be issued only if an email is received by institute@truman.edu at least 24 hours prior to the start of the in-person skills check. Failure to attend the in-person skills check without proper email documentation will result in no refund being issued and incur an additional $20 rescheduling fee. Classes with enrollments fewer than 3 registrants may be cancelled.
